About The NYC Locksmith
The NYC Locksmith is a locksmith company serving all five boroughs of New York City. We handle homes, businesses, and vehicles, and we answer the phone 24 hours a day, every day of the year, because locks rarely fail at a convenient hour.
We work out of two Manhattan locations. One is at 318 E 104th Street in East Harlem, and the other is at 107 W 10th Street in Greenwich Village. From there, our technicians travel across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.
CALL NOW, WE ARE ON THE WAY
What We Do
Our work falls into five areas.

Apartment and house lockouts, lock changes and rekeying, deadbolt and high-security lock installation, broken key extraction, keys spinning in worn cylinders, and hardware for new construction and renovations. We also install Shabbos combination locks on request, which run on a mechanical code rather than electricity.

Storefront locks, mortise locksets, panic bars, door closers, buzzer systems, intercoms, access control, and master key systems for offices, retail, and apartment buildings.

Car lockouts, car key replacement, key programming, and key duplication, including laser-cut keys with transponder chips. The work happens where your car is rather than at a dealership.

Lockouts, break-in repairs, and urgent cylinder or lock changes when a key has gone missing or a set of keys has not come back.

Safes, surveillance cameras, electronic access control, and monitoring. Our approach here is narrow on purpose. We fit what the space needs and leave out the equipment it does not.
How We Work
- We verify before we open. Before any lockout job, our technician confirms that you have the right to be there. That step protects you and everyone else in your building, and it is not optional. We work regularly with apartment landlords and with a court-appointed marshal, and lockouts are carried out lawfully and without damage to your door.
- We quote before we start. You hear the price before the work begins.
- Our products carry a 90-day warranty covering both labor and parts.
- We keep good standing with the people around us. We maintain working relationships with law enforcement and with neighboring businesses in the areas we serve.

Our Technicians
Our technicians are trained locksmiths, not dispatchers with a drill. Most of what we do involves opening a lock without harming it, and that takes tools and patience rather than force. Customers regularly tell us the same three things about our team: the technician arrived when we said, explained what the lock needed, and left the door working better than they found it.
Licensing and Insurance
New York City requires locksmiths to hold a license issued by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. The requirement covers repairing, servicing, installing, inspecting, and opening locks by mechanical means, and any customer may verify a license through the city’s public license check.
The NYC Locksmith is licensed and insured to work in New York City.
